Colorado State Troopers respond to only half of the fatal accidents that happened in Colorado in 2022. 21% were caused by lane violations, 26% were caused by impaired drivers and 25% were caused by excessive speed. Those three negligent acts accounted for almost 75%of all deaths in Colorado in 2022.
